The Donor Bill of Rights
Climate Emergency Fund is committed to ensuring our donors have full confidence in our work and stewardship of their support, and we declare that all our donors have these rights:

I. To maintain anonymity and be protected from political retribution. Climate Emergency Fund will take all reasonable measures to safeguard donor identities and prevent the disclosure of donor information that could lead to political reprisal or harassment, within the bounds of applicable law.
II. To be informed of the Climate Emergency Fund's mission, of the way we use donated resources, and of our capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
IlI. To be informed of the identity of those serving on Climate Emergency Fund's board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
IV. To be assured gifts will be used for the purpose for which they were given.
V. To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
Vl. To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
VIl. To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
VIII. To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization, or hired solicitors.
IX. To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
